This Yanmar YDG5500 genset
was taken to Haiti the day their 2010 cholera outbreak started. It's used to pump water from a cistern to an elevated 1000 gallon storage tank.
The water is then gravity fed from the storage tank through a system that filters out e-coli and cholera to a 125 gallon filtered water tank from which kids can drink. Thousands became sick and nearly 300 people died in the area, but the kids in this camp were safe thanks to the new water system.
